Drones, I am sure you have all heard of drones as the term has seen lots of daylight since the beginning of the Ukraine war. We have seen the benefits drones can provide on the battlefield, but this didn’t come as a shocker to anyone. In short, drones in combat allow critical tasks to be carried out without risking the lives of humans thus minimizing combat casualties. They can also bolster forces by providing artificial firepower as seen by the Ukrainian Air Force which is comprised of drones. “Drone Force.” However, while I could go on forever about combat drones I came here to talk about drones being used in the civilian side of reality as this is where we could see some serious new business arise.
Two industries that I see benefiting immensely from drone technology are the agricultural industry. For example, drones equipped with sensors and cameras can monitor crop health, assess soil conditions, and even apply fertilizers or pesticides with precision. This not only improves crop yields but also minimizes environmental impact by optimizing resource use.
Drone technology in the shipping and mailing industry I believe will become mainstream. The concept of drone delivery has gained significant traction, with companies exploring ways to use drones for transporting goods efficiently over land or via the ocean. We could see drone maritime vessels that are specifically cargo vessels. Additionally, urban air mobility is emerging as a potential solution for easing traffic congestion in densely populated areas. Companies are working on developing drones capable of transporting people, revolutionizing the future of transportation.
Now the real question is where can we take advantage of this up-and-coming trend I could go ahead and throw out some random drone startups and some other garbage drone companies that may never make it out of their IPO. Instead, I am going to postpone choosing an individual company and rather stick to the sold front runners such as the defense companies RTX, BA, NOC, and LMT. until a more solid startup and speculative company emerges and I will post a follow-up to this in regards to a strong speculative drone startup
